CPP condemns rearrest of NDFP peace consultant

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemned the rearrest on 2 May 2012 of Jaime Soledad, consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in the peace negotiations. Soledad, 63, was arrested at his house in Inopacan, Leyte, on trumped-up charges of murder.

NDFP condemns arrest and detention of Consultant Renante Gamara

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) Negotiating Panel vigorously condemns the illegal arrest and detention of NDFP Consultant Renante Gamara. He was arrested by armed men in civilian clothes on 3 April 2012 in Las Piñas, Metro Manila. Not read his Miranda rights nor shown any warrant of arrest, he and his companion, Santiago Balleta, were handcuffed and brought to the Camp Crame Custodial Center.
